Hiring a Washington, DC personal trainer is an important decision...not only is your investment a concern, but you also have to be sure that you are getting the service that you want and deserve. So why choose Lisa Reed Fitness? Because our programs actually work, time and time again. But don't take our word for it!
I suppose I'm like many others, whether they are in my age group or not, who gradually let go of their shape and energy, thinking that "some day" they will get started on a program. My "some day" came when my daughter, Amy, put me together with Lisa Reed, who was helping her to achieve her own fitness goals. From my first day with Lisa, I knew that I was in for a real challenge, but her optimism, her positive attitude and her "Yays!!!" kept me going way past what I thought I could do.
Training with Lisa, combined with a committment to Weight Watchers, has helped me lose about 30 pounds, and I've found that my strength and energy are increasing daily. I train with a terrific group of gals, and with Lisa we laugh and work and get stronger every day. I know that the years ahead will be so much more vital than I could've imagined just a few months ago, and for that I thank Lisa, with all my heart. And, I guess Amy is right....it's time to chuck those baggy pants and find something a little more flattering. Yay!!!!
"I have always been an avid athlete; I was a nationally ranked high school and collegiate high jumper. After college I continued to workout, however, I did not feel fulfilled because I was training without an objective. Fast forward 12 years -- I have since graduated from law school and practice law at an international firm in Washington, DC. My practice requires me to work long hours and make frequent trips abroad and in spite of this arduous schedule, my commitment to physical fitness is unwavering. In August 2010, I set my sights on competing in a figure competition. I contacted Lisa Reed who created a personalized diet and workout program to prepare me for my first competition on November 13, 2010. Over the course of 11 weeks, twice daily gym visits, and more chicken than I cared to eat, Lisa transformed me into a beautiful lean machine.
On November 13, 2010, I swept the OCB Hudson River Classic -- 1st place Figure Debut, 1st place Figure Novice, 1st Place Figure Open Tall, Overall Figure Open winner, Overall Women's Figure winner. Seven days later, on November 20, 2010, I entered my second competition, the USBF Pennsylvania Natural Pro-Am. Once again I had repeat success -- 1st place Figure Novice, 1st Place Figure Open Tall, Overall Figure Open winner, Overall Women's Figure winner. More significantly, I received my pro card. A pro card recipient after only two shows over two weeks -- Wow.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Lisa for her wealth of knowledge, guidance, positive spirit and endless patience. Without her I could not have achieved my objective to be successful in my first competition. I truly feel that my goals became her goals and she dedicated herself 100% to making sure that we achieved them together. From the first day we met, Lisa made me feel like I am her most important client and am the only thing that matters. I would bombard Lisa with question after question, at all times of the day, and almost every day, and Lisa always made herself available to me to address my concerns. And when Lisa did not hear from me, she always made sure to check in to see how I was doing and to help keep my morale up. Lisa is truly an amazing woman who is not only my coach, but is also my friend.
My next figure competition is in April 2011 and I have already started my journey with Lisa by my side. I am certain that with her help I will continue to have success!" -Tiffany, Washington DC
Malene, a President and CEO in Northern Virginia, could see her workouts becoming more and more inconsistent before working out with Lisa. "The convenience of working out at home --no excuses!!! Working with Lisa makes me feel more confident because she continues to push me and motivate me. I incorporated the protein bars and snacks into my daily routine --when I used to skip meals. Working out with Lisa makes sweating ever so much more fun! She is genuinely invested in your progress to good health and these days that is a precious commodity to find."
One of Malene's motto is, "Each moment counts--so make each one like it was your last one."
"Working out with Lisa…it hurts so good!"
“I hired Lisa Reed Fitness for personal training to increase my general overall conditioning and strength. I trained with them for about 9 months. I was 64 years old and 15 lbs overweight. I finished in February in the best shape of my life and will be going back in May.
The training was geared specifically to me and Lisa laid out each session as a function of how I was proceeding. She pushed me when she had to and pulled back when I needed it. The result was that I regained my speed for playing soccer. Getting out of shape sneaks up on you and so does getting back into shape. I only get to ski once each winter now and this year thanks to Lisa, my muscles were never tired. Even in my 20's, my muscles would ache. Thank you Lisa”
"Having been a Division I collegiate athlete, fitness and body image are extremely important to me. So, when I got pregnant with my first child, one of my big concerns was how I was going to limit my bodily expansion to just my growing tummy.
While I tried to maintain my existing workout regime early on my pregnancy, I quickly found that pregnant women have their own special fitness challenges and needs that require a tailored program. That's when I turned to Lisa Reed at Lisa Reed Fitness. In addition to having extensive fitness education and experience, I knew Lisa specialized in pre and post-natal fitness programs. Lisa worked with me to develop a customized workout program for each trimester of my pregnancy that was tailored to my fitness goals. She designed a program that would not only help me meet the doctor's recommended cardiovascular activity, but would also help me preserve my muscle tone and shape. I've followed her plan religiously and am thrilled with the results!
And, as the birth nears, I'm feeling confident that with Lisa's help, I'll be back in my skinny jeans in no time!"
Did you have a tipping point to get a fitness plan or a goal in mind? Did you meet your goals? How has it helped you in life?
Yes, Tipping point was last year when I went heli-skiing after an Achilles injury which prevented me from working out. I could only ski half a day and then I was exhausted.
I decided after that trip I would work with a personal trainer. The results were fantastic. When I went to our home in Colorado I would ski top to bottom nonstop at Copper Mountain with just a little burn in my thighs at the very bottom. Then went I went heli-skiing my legs never got tired.
I have incorporated the walking exercises that Lisa told me to do and this has helped me lose weight but more importantly made me feel better.
Have you incorporated fitness and nutrition into your lifestyle and/or what you long term goals?
Yes, I eat much better and I think about everything I eat to see whether it is more nutritious. I thus avoid many fatty foods and foods high in sugar and calories
What is your motto to live by?
Aim high and don't give up.
Anything else you would like to share?
Having Lisa help me in my training has emphasized how importan t exercise is to a person who has a desk job.
"Dianna asked me if I would workout with Lisa and I was all for it. I was nervous at first, but Lisa has been wonderful. Pushes us enough. She always has a smile on her face-Always encouraging us. I did meet my first goal, but I would like to meet my second too. She has taught me about eating small meals more frequently. She has given a bunch of ideas about snacks. Tricks to getting healthier and changing my attitude about fitness. " Susie's motto is "do everything in moderation and a smile!"
"After training for almost a year with Lisa for the 2010 Transplant games, the hard work paid off and I was lucky enough to win a gold medal in the 40-49 age group in tennis, a silver medal in the freestyle relay and a silver medal in the 3 on 3 co-ed basketball. The transplant games is open to all athletes who have received an organ or tissue donation. 1300 athletes participated in the games in August in Madison Wisconsin in tennis, swimming, track and field, cycling, triathlon and other sports. Thanks to Lisa and my training partners and friends for their encouragement and support this last year. Next is the World transplant games in Goteberg, Sweden June 2011."
"As a fifty-four year old woman who has a healthy history of great eating habits, regular exercise and a satisfying personal life, it was shocking to discover last winter that I had osteoporosis. Not liking the medical alternatives it was time to work seriously on rebuilding body mass. I was introduced to Lisa and began twice weekly training sessions. Six months later, a dexa bone scan revealed encouraging results. Unlike the previous interval between scans, when bone mass fell alarmingly by percentage, there has been no further loss of bone density. I am stronger, more agile, and feel this proactive approach to long term health and fitness has been richly rewarded.
There are no shortcuts. Making healthy choices is a lifestyle. I'm in it for the long term.
A motto of sorts: A dear friend came through an intensely challenging time of life. She explained greeting each day by setting intentions--a pseudo Buddist-style philosophy. Each day I reflect upon loved ones, think of treating others with respect and restraint, and acknowledge I am responsible for my actions and reactions. This is a great path and infuses relationships and interactions with calm. I like that.
Adding Lisa into the mix of life has been empowering--she's a long term asset and a wonderful partner in fitness.
"For me, leveraging physical fitness for aesthetic goals and personal goals was an accident! Several years ago I committed to a friend to do the Avon 3-Day walk with her. After the training and the walk, I ended up becoming addicted to going to the gym and realized that I looked better at 30 than when I was 20. I am still reaping the rewards from those years of diligent cardio and strength training! I also realized that if I could change my physique, that the same discipline would translate to any other change I couldwant in life. As a busy family, balance is so much more difficult - so bothfitness and balanced nutrition are things to plan for and commit to.
To achieve my goals, the biggest lesson from having two babies within 13 months of each other was to set boundaries. Working out to lose the baby weight is a non-negotiable priority in my home. I put everyone else’s needs ahead of my own, except for my hour with Lisa!” Live to Be Fit Momx2!
"Lisa is such a great person and she is so committed to her health and fitness and a pleasure to work with."
First, I committed to a consistent lifestyle, not overly regimented, but with an eye toward appreciating that everything I did was going to affect how I progressed. I couldn't have done this without the help and encouragement I got from Lisa. As Elton John sings, "Someone saved my life tonight!"
When I began, I could barely do 10 minutes on the elliptical machine at level 1. Now I routinely do a 45-minute workout at level 16 (backward and forward). For virtually every resistance exercise I have increased my weight by at least 100%. (I could barely do three sets of 10 on the chest press machine with 60 lbs. I can now do that exercise with 120 lbs. Dumb bell exercises I did with 8 or 10 lbs I now do with 20 or 25 lbs). I try to religiously follow the resistance training workouts Lisa has prepared for me. I include some form of resistance training every other day and try to do core routines every day, even if that means doing crunches and pushups at home in front of the TV during commercial breaks.
I am not on a diet! What I have done is completely revamp how and what I eat. Following Lisa's advice I have dramatically reduced the amount of fatty foods I was eating. More importantly I've learned to eat five or six small, nutritious meals each day. I've paid attention to increasing the amount of protein I consume (enjoying a couple of whey protein shakes each day) and I ensure that I have a lot of complex carbs right after I exercise. Mid-day I have a Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice entrée, and try to have a small handful of nuts and/or raisins whenever I feel hungry. At home my wife Wanda and I have small meals but generally eat whatever we want usually grilled meat with a vegetable and rice or pasta. (The thing for me now is that I don't want to have the things I craved so much before.)
It's also a helluva lot of fun to not only feel great again, but to actually see improvement every day. I couldn't have done this without the help and encouragement from Lisa. When I was finally sick and tired of being sick and tired, Lisa was there to teach me to eat properly, get and stay fit, and build the body I wanted. Her combination of personal example, motivation and encouragement, and simple, consistent training techniques restored my health and literally changed the way I live.
More than 60 pounds off in just over a year and building muscles I thought were gone forever. Lisa taught me to achieve, not dream!

"There aren't enough wonderful, positive adjectives to describe Lisa Reed. As a personal friend and former supervisor, her vivacious, caring, and gracious manner always make her a joy to be around. She is the ultimate motivator and consummate professional who goes out of her way to provide only the best for those students, clients and fitness competitors who are lucky enough to work with her. Lisa is a fiercely loyal friend who will always be your biggest cheerleader or an ever-present shoulder to cry on when you need kind and encouraging words. With her optimistic, winners-only attitude, unwavering confidence, and unstoppable, down-to-earth spirit, Lisa will go very far. I know I speak for a number of people when I say I am honored and blessed to know her, and call her my friend."
I have gone to trainers before but never found anyone who clicked. When I went to Lisa I was looking for someone to help me look and feel great for my wedding. Lisa kicked my butt, motivated me to eat better and work out on my own. When my wedding came, I had lost weight, gained strength and confidence and felt great. I am so glad I found Lisa! She was beyond helpful and motivating. When it comes to workouts she has tons of ideas so you can find something that will work for you. Lisa is Amazing!
"Lisa makes coming to the gym in the morning…easy, like second nature. How's that possible?
Well, I've come a long way. Honestly, before October 2007 I had NEVER worked out consistently — let alone in the morning — in my entire life. I started off in Bootcamp three mornings per week, and now am doing strength training with Lisa twice a week, plus using programs she designed for me at least two additional days per week. Not only have I gotten physically stronger, I just plain feel good about myself. Still a lot of work to do, but Lisa makes it, you got it – easy.
She's smiling when I arrive and offers positive encouragement throughout every minute of every workout. We laugh, we talk, we tell stories and all the while I get in a workout that makes me feel like I've accomplished something and actually does produce results. A good time all around.
Lisa is exceptional at what she does. When I'm training with her, I feel like she knows my body and my limits and capabilities as well as or even better than I do. This makes it easy to trust her judgment. When she's pushing me, I don't think twice about whether I can do it; we both know I can. The question is, do I really want to? She makes me want to.
Just as important, she's also helped make working out a natural part of my weekly routine. Going to the gym is second nature. I don't feel like I've had a good week if I don't go. It's not a guilt thing; it's the drive to maintain a balanced lifestyle that she's instilled in me.
Speaking of, it's not just the in-gym training. It's the comprehensive lifestyle adjustments she's inspired me to make. From what to eat to when to eat it, eating right is a priority thanks to her. And I couldn't be more satisfied with where I am mentally and physically today. Lisa's motivational style, top-tier training skills, responsiveness to questions, knowledge about health and nutrition, and ability to discipline with a smile is what drives my success.
Plus, have you seen her? It's easier to work toward a goal when a prime example is standing right in front of you!
Thanks, Lisa!"
Our program made huge strides in all areas of conditioning under the direction of Lisa Reed. During the time she worked with our program, our team not only won four SEC Championships we went all four years without dropping a single match in the league.
"There are plenty of professionals out there who can train your body to be fit. There are a good number who can even train your mind to be disciplined. But there are a very few who can truly train your spirit to feel confident and inspired. Lisa Reed is someone who does all three, in spades. After living the extreme post-college life of long work days, long nights out, little sleep and a poor diet, my body, mind and spirit were depleted. I was frustrated to see my once fit and healthy self look the complete opposite in only a few years.
Through group boot camp classes and personal training, Lisa helped me to not only get back into the gym on a regular basis, but she inspired me to feel confident and enjoy being there. Lisa works with you to create goals that focus on overall well being and then helps you create a plan to achieve them. Whether it's losing two dress sizes, improving eating patterns or becoming stronger, Lisa is there with you, checking in, encouraging and giving you that extra kick when you need it. Lisa's workouts are never boring and always push the limits of what you think you can do, leading you to walk away sweaty…but with a true sense of accomplishment!
I certainly feel lucky to have found a trainer who is more than a drill sergeant, though she can certainly play that role when necessary, but also a source of encouragement and inspiration. Lisa, thank you for being integral on my journey to reclaim my overall health and well being!"
Pushing beyond goals and exceeding expectations: Sometimes our minds limit us in what we can accomplish. It's pushing past the goals that we "think" we can achieve and exceeding beyond our expectations that transforms someone from good to great! When I envisioned the body that I wanted, I knew that I would have to work with someone who could see beyond my own expectations. I immediately contacted Lisa Reed.
I knew that if I wanted to accomplish my goal, I needed to work with the best in the business; I needed to work with someone who had pushed beyond her goals and exceeded everyone's expectations. When I met with Lisa, she was direct with what was needed in my diet, clear with how I was to workout, and enthusiastic in helping me create the body and life that I desired.
Over an 8 week period Lisa served as a motivator, an inspirational friend, a disciplinarian, a coach, a dietician, my own private cheering section, and a person with vision greater than mine. She enthusiastically pushed me to go further and every day I was amazed at the results! I began to enjoy the diet plan, the discipline, the work outs, and the transformation of my body and my mind. I began to see and feel my abdominal muscles and oblique's on a regular basis and more importantly I gained the confidence that is only obtained through discipline, vision and purpose. Lisa saw beyond what I could see and pushed me to exceed my own expectations.
In other words, Lisa is far more than a professional fitness competitor and consultant; she is a transformational motivator helping people do things that they never thought possible.
Thank you Lisa!
No doubt about it, Lisa Reed is one of the nation's most gifted personal trainers. Her depth of knowledge of physiology, kineseology, diet/nutrition and general health is unsurpassed. After a three year hiatus from working out and healthy living; Lisa geared me up to be in peak shape at 41.
I have never felt better or looked better and I am having a great time doing it. Inspiring is the word to describe Lisa and I am truly grateful to call her a friend. When I need that occasional pick up Lisa is always there and she knows just how to motivate me.
Thanks, Lisa...you're the best!
"In trade magazines, Lisa is credited with being a major force in pro tennis player Monica Seles' comeback. I attribute my improved body image and healthy lifestyle to Lisa.
One year ago, I admitted to myself that I was 12 pounds over weight (expanding slowly year-by-year), had minimal muscle tone (despite the many aerobics classes I had taken over the years), and was feeling slightly winded after walking up a flight of stairs. Needless to say, I did not like the situation. However, I was not about to give-in to being overweight with the concomitant health conditions common to middle-aged American women.
Last August, I placed third in the Southern States Masters' Figure Competition, which entailed my walking on stage and posing in a two-piece sequined costume to display my toned physique! I barely recognized myself in the photographs taken at that event. What a difference from where I was the year before. Lisa worked with me on a weekly basis both training my muscles and teaching me about nutrition and its importance in building muscle. Lisa's knowledge of the science and research underpinning her field is outstanding.
Her combination of didactic learning (Masters in Science) and many years of hands-on experience (national title contender and professional gymnast) has not only opened my eyes to the professional aspects her sport but more importantly, has made her nationally renowned in her field as a personal trainer and nutritionist."
I am a full time working mom of two toddlers boys. When my youngest was almost 2 I realized I had gained too much weight, and just looked and felt....bad. I hated exercising and didn't do it al all. Ever. I didn't think I had enough time to fit it in, and thought it would be impossible to change my eating habits while trying to feed two kids every night also. I had every excuse in the book until Lisa Reed looked at me and said "Okay, either you want this or you don't. Either you are going to do it - or you're not. Which is it?". That's when I started my 7 week "Photo Fit" program. Lisa is so much more than a trainer, working with her is like having a personal nutritionist, coach, teacher, and mentor. She has truly been my partner and my guide in making huge, impactful changes to my lifestyle. I'm working out 6 days a week, lifting weights and doing cardio, and loving it! I am so much more active than I have ever been, and having so much more fun with my kids as a result. I am making good, healthy eating choices by habit....and enjoying finding recipes and cooking and even eating out, but being healthy while doing it. Lisa taught me how to break habits, create new ones, and change my life and was a true partner and source of strength while I took all the steps to get there. She was available practically 24/7 to answer questions (answering texts while I was grocery shopping or cooking meals!!), offer encouragement (when all I wanted was a big cheeseburger!), and keep me motivated and moving. Nine weeks later I lost 20 pounds and had dramatically changed the way body looked, worked, and felt. Everything is easier and better and more fun now - from my career to my kids to my marriage to my social life!
The hardest part about a Lisa Reed Fitness program? The END! I extended my program for 2 weeks, and have since gathered up some friends for two 6 - 8 week boot camp sessions with Lisa. I can't get enough (and now neither can my friends)! Thanks doesn't even cut it....Lisa, I will always be so grateful to you for teaching me, supporting me, and showing me how strong I truly am!
Not only did Lisa help me to achieve fitness for competition in highschool, she also showed me how wonderful it feels to always be in shape. In the NCS Weight Room, she showed us all the importance of exercise by patiently helping us to achieve our fitness goals, which ultimately helped our team to perform at its best.
Although I no longer compete in college, I attribute my desire to be fit to Lisa's training. Her self-motivation is contagious. She constantly sends me workouts that make going to the gym fun. She is the perfect prevention from the freshman fifteen!
Lisa is addictive! She is part teacher, part motivator, part coach, but full-time friend. She makes me challenge myself to be better and stronger. Hang around with Lisa, and you'll find her blend of technique, exercise, and nutrition will become part of your life.
I have known Lisa for 10 years, as a friend and colleague and you will not find anyone more passionate about training and leading a fit and healthy lifestyle.
Live to be Fit is not her company; it is her life! If you want rock- solid, creative training programs combined with cutting edge nutrition and lifestyle tips, her programs will take you to your goals and beyond. Her passion will become your passion.
Coach Reed's background as a strength and conditioning coach, collegiate gymnast, and professional fitness competitor has garnered her the experience necessary to train individuals to their specific needs in pursuit of success. Lisa has overcome surgical setbacks and athletic challenges that enhances her abilities as a coach in the areas of fitness and strength and conditioning that enables her to have patience to adapt to the needs of her clients.
Having known Lisa for over ten years in the strength and conditioning field - I know her to be respected, knowledgable, and highly saught after for her opinion by her colleagues throughout the country. Working with Lisa will put you in position to acheive the goals you set for yourself - if you are willing to put in the effort.
While I've always enjoyed exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, I was stuck in a rut and was not seeing results. Once I began boot camp group sessions and then periodic strength training sessions with Lisa, I found a renewed excitment for working out and challenging myself to work harder.
I definitely saw results, which was reaffirmed by family and friends and gave me additional motivation to try new exercises and approaches to working out. Lisa is awesome — she motivates you, pushes you to work harder, and is positive at all times. She listens to your goals and then works with you to help you reach them. And most importantly, you have fun, which makes you excited to be healthy. Lisa also emphasizes how being healthy is working out and nutrition, and finding a realistic balance that will work with your lifestyle and patterns.
She is the best!
"As a high school Athletic Director I look for extremely qualified and motivational instructors for my student-athletes, Lisa Reed fits the bill 10 times over!"
"Lisa Reed has a work ethic that is second to none. She's extremely passionate and her positive attitude is very infectious; she's an exceptional person that I have a tremendous amount of respect for!"
"I have known Lisa since 2000 and have admired her desired to not only challenge herself to become an excellent athlete but her ability to bring out the best in people around her. The students will surely benefit from her knowledge and past experience.
Hopefully one day, some of her athletes will compete in our organization, The Women's Tri-Fitness, to challenge themselves the same way as Coach Reed."
"I have been working out since the early 80's in San Diego. Lisa is the most supportive, directed, and creative athletic/conditioning coach to date. I love new challenges and Lisa is full of them! Lisa has that rare ability to not only increase my interest and strength via new and intriguing exercises, but also to enhance my workout pleasure."
"Lisa consistently kept me motivated to work out not only doing cardio but with weights which I was hesitate about doing. She helped me make working out fun and enjoyable! She would send me emails and and call to see how my workouts were going to make sure I was on track. She is a phenomenal trainer and is always so positive!"
"Lisa has always been driven to succeed since I knew her in college. She brings a fire and desire to whatever she does. Lisa draws people to her and pushes them beyond their expectations."
"After working with Lisa throughout high school, I was well prepared for lifting in college, to the surprise of my college strength coach. She taught me the importance of weight training and the correct form, as well as imparting a love of the weight room."
"Lisa Reed is a motivator and and inspirational figure in the weight room. She is committed to developing the strength, agility and overall fitness of her athletes and her clients.
She is dedicated to the needs and aspirations of those she works with and will always demand peak performance. Lisa will encourage you to set your expectations high and in doing so will help you meet your goals."
I enjoyed working with Lisa during her time at National Cathedral School. She was always professional, energetic, and enthusiastic!
She did a fantastic job working with our athletes in getting them ready for competition. She also gave our college-bound athletes a jump start in their preparation for intercollegiate competition.
I miss her upbeat, positive attitude!
Lisa Reed is a fabulous teacher of fitness. She made significant improvements in the technical aspects of weight lifting with my oarsmen. I believe that we got faster on the water due to her skills as an instructor in the weight room.
Lisa is also a great resource for training ideas especially in developing core circuits and creative ways of make exercise fun and safe.
Dear Lisa: It gives me great pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for you.
As you may recall, Wren Cooper and I showed up at the NCS gym–both of us over the age of 75–totally out of shape, but willing to put ourselves in your capable hands. She had been retired for ten years; I was about to retire, but both of us were happy to use the NCS facilities as one of the perquisites of former faculty.
Wren and I were particularly delighted to see the individual care you lavished on us both. Our programs were somewhat different because of previous injuries; however, we were able to work side by side, which was enjoyable, and to encourage one another.
At all times you kept an eye on what we were doing and set a pace which was appropriate to our physical abilities. Your lively sense of humor and good-natured banter was a plus in a situation which could have been monotonous.
By the time you left NCS my blood pressure had fallen to 124/68 and my combined cholesterol number was 190. Not bad for an old lady! Both of us are indeed grateful for all of your patient attention to us and wish you well in all of your future endeavors.
1. Did you meet your goals or feel that you were trained specifically to look great in your dress and on your honeymoon? How has it helped you in life? Oh yes, I met my goals and then some! After I tried on my dress the first time, I went out and bought Spanx to wear underneath. Well by the time my last fitting rolled around, I didn't even need the Spanx! All the training focusing on my shoulders and...um...the rear area really made the difference in how the drlyess fit. I've carried over the training routine to my daily life, maintaining my lifting schedule 3 times per week...and TRYING to eat in moderation, which is hard to do when you don't have a dress to fit into. :)
The program really opened my eyes to what I SHOULD be eating and how much. Sadly it's not that much. :) Now I look at eating right as "nutrition" as opposed to "dieting".
2. Have you incorporated fitness and nutrition into your lifestyle and/or what you long term goals? Now my goals are to maintain what Lisa helped me achieve for the wedding. It's a plan that I can keep up with for the rest of my life.
3. What is your motto to live by? Whether it's a good day or bad day, get a work out in and it will be a better day. (And have 2 cheat meals a week!)
I have been an athlete all my life, and thought I knew what I was doing in the gym. I was admittedly skeptical of Lisa's routine when we first started - I thought heavy weights = big bulky muscles. But she is a pro and proved me wrong. I could not have been happier or have felt more beautiful on my wedding day, and I owe a large part of that to Lisa!
My goal was to be more confident and feel my best on my wedding day. Juggling wedding planning, work and life can get tricky so having a positive trainer like LR to make the most of your workout time and to push you along the way was a huge help! Fitness has always been a part of my life but working out with LRF helped me learn more about the huge role of nutrition. I pack insulated lunch bags of healthy snacks on Sundays so when I get pressed for time I can grab and go during the week. Torry's fitness motto is, "You are what you eat; so everything in moderation! What you put in your body really does matter so take one day at a time and work on healthy eating habits that will stick with you for the long-term."
